What is a Nurse Practitioner?

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice Registered Nurse who has completed a Master's degree and is endorsed by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). NPs are qualified to provide specialised patient care, including diagnosing diseases, prescribing medications, ordering pathology and radiology investigations, and referring patients to other specialists as needed.

Patients do not require a referral from their General Practitioner to schedule an appointment with an NP and still have access to Medicare rebates.

Adam provides a service that collaborates with your treating General Practitioner or existing Urologist (if applicable) to provide a holistic healthcare model.

Male Sexual Function

Adam has extensive experience assisting men (and their partners, if applicable) with sexual function concerns, including erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, peyronie's disease and hormone testing. He conducts thorough assessments and develops individualised and evidence-based plans to achieve the desired goals. Adam educates his patients about various treatment options, including medications (oral tablets and penile injections), vacuum constriction devices, and penile prosthesis devices. Additionally, Adam's counselling skills allow him to employ sensate/intimacy training programs to enhance couple connectedness and overall sexual experience, if needed.

Male Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms

LUTS

With years of urological experience, Adam is proficient in assessing bladder dysfunction issues such as urine leakage, nighttime voiding, frequent urination, urgency, poor urinary stream, and post-void dribbling. He utilises state-of-the-art investigative tools to diagnose specific bladder problems and tailor treatments accordingly. Adam collaborates with experienced urologists for more intensive treatments when necessary and can assist with selecting urinary leakage products (pads) to improve daily activities and quality of life.

Prostate Cancer

Adam works alongside urologists and oncologists to observe and manage patients who have had a prostate cancer diagnosis. He has ample experience tracking PSA levels for men on active surveillance and post-surgical treatment. Adam communicates clearly and provides his patients and their families with plenty of time to discuss any concerns they may have during their treatment journey. Additionally, for patients undergoing Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT), Adam is qualified to administer the treatment, closely monitor for potential adverse effects, and review/order pathology testing as required throughout the course of treatment.
